Where do All Those Bike Paths Go?
A unique aspect of Denver’s many bike paths is that some lead to exciting adventures on dirt trails and others funnel directly to Denver’s most prominent attractions – such as Cherry Creek Mall, Downtown Denver, Elitch Gardens, Four Mile Historic Park, and the Downtown Aquarium.  They connect some of Denver’s hottest neighborhoods including LoHi, Riverfront, LoDo, Washington Park and Cherry Creek North.

Most Notable Bike Paths/Trails in Denver:
With hundreds of bike paths and trails in Denver, it can be a challenge to find the one you like best. Those of you who have been cycling in Denver for a long time are likely to already know your favorites. But for anyone looking for a suggestion, consider the following:

South Platte River Trail – the bike path along the South Platte River is shared with walkers and joggers. The trail is unofficially separated into three sections by location. The first section is an area that stretches from the trail’s southern-most tip to Belleview. Many have described this segment as serene and as having excellent views. The second section extends north from Belleview to Colfax. Some of this portion passes through industrial areas. The final piece of the trail extends north from Colfax to Confluence Park. This section of the trail provides outstanding views of Downtown Denver.

Cherry Creek Bike Path – on a nice day, the bike path along Cherry Creek is usually packed with walkers, joggers, and cyclists. And in Denver, most days are quite nice – even in the winter! This path will take you by the Cherry Creek Shopping District, past Denver’s noteworthy Four Mile Historic Park, through Cherry Creek State Park, and finally to Castlewood Canyon State Park. Cherry Creek Bike Path is one of the city’s most popular because it is easy to access and provides beautiful scenery and views into Denver’s most upscale neighborhoods. It’s a great choice for bike riders of all ages and skills.

Piney Creek Trail – this bike trail is about 10 miles in length and it is significant because it connects the Cherry Creek trail to Southeast Aurora. This is an excellent choice for anyone wishing to take a longer ride all the way to the Aurora Reservoir, where even more bike trails are available!

What is Denver’s B-Cycle program?
The City of Denver is truly pioneering the way residents and visitors can access different areas of the city on a bicycle! The city’s “B-Cycle” program was the first large-scale municipal bike sharing program in the United States. The program encourages bike riding as a means of getting from one place to another but also as a way to experience Denver from a bicycle instead of a car. There are dozens of B-stations set up across the city where individuals can pick up a bike, use it, and drop it off at any other B-station in the city. Becoming a B-cycle member is inexpensive and convenient, and the bikes are designed for individuals of any height and also for those with any cycling skill level.
