Newberry Brothers bought two retail buildings on Leetsdale Drive in east Denver and will move its floral business from Cherry Creek North. The company acquired a 12,046 square foot former Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage store and an adjacent retail strip at 5301 to 5307 Leetsdale Drive. The company will move its operations from East 2nd Avenue and Garfield Street, a site that may be redeveloped for a townhouse project called Garfield Row.  Full Article Here

The Robert E. Loup Jewish Community Center plans a $50 million expansion of its campus in east Denver. The three to four year project will involve a number of new facilities at the center, mainly along the East Leetsdale Drive frontage. BMC Investments of Denver is planning the development of a 165 room hotel at 240 Josephine Street in Cherry Creek. The 8 story hotel, rumored to be a new Marriott brand, will include below grade parking and a large courtyard adjacent to Josephine Street. The project architect is Johnson Nathan Strohe of Denver. Mix Housing | Boulder, Colorado 80304
Plans for the redevelopment of the former Colorado National Guard armory in north Boulder have been dropped. Boulder developers Bruce Dierking and Jim Loftus have the 8.5 acre parcel at 4750 Broadway under contract from the State of Colorado and had submitted plans to the City of Boulder for a mix of housing, commercial, community and arts spaces. While the plans were generally approved by neighbors the developers cited feasibility issues in their decision to drop the concept. New plans are likely now to be submitted, primarily oriented to housing.  Full Article Here

Shea Homes Colorado bought 1,270 acres in  the planned Canyons mixed-use development in Castle Pines. The developer will start infrastructure work in 2016 with lots made available to builders in 2017. The Canyons is a 3,343 acre project to be located east of I-25 between the interchanges for Hess and Happy Canyon roads. The property is owned by North Canyons LLLP, which has planned for about 1,400 acres of parks and open space, 2.1 million square feet of commercial space and about 2,200 residential units on the Shea Homes land.  Full Article Here

Stonebridge Company began construction on the Rollnick Hotel, a 201-room project in Cherry Creek North. The hotel at 222 Milwaukee Street will occupy the site of the Rollnick Building, which is currently being demolished. The five-story building will occupy a site that was once part of the Denargo Market wholesaling district north of downtown Denver. The Denver Housing Authority will develop a 72-unit affordable apartment building in Lowry. The project will be located in the new Boulevard One section of the Lowry redevelopment area at the corner of South Niagara Street and East Archer Place. New Community | Lakewood, Colorado 80226
Ascent Living Communities began construction on the Village at Belmar. The 156-unit apartment community for senior residents is located at 7825 West Alameda Boulevard in Lakewood, just west of the Belmar mixed-use community. The Village includes 72 assisted living units, 24 memory care suites and 60 units for independent living. Full Article Here

New Apartments | Littleton, Colorado 80122
AMLI Residential closed on the acquisition of a site for a new apartment community in Littleton. The previously announced AMLI Littleton Village will contain 352 units and be located at the northwest corner of East Dry Creek Road and South Logan Street. Littleton Village is a mixed-use residential and retail project underway on the 77 acre tract at South Broadway and East Dry Creek Road that was previously the location of a Marathon Oil research center. That facility closed in 2000 and was subsequently demolished to allow for new development by an affiliate of Watt Investment Partners. AMLI Residential paid $9.9 million for the site, or about $28,000 per unit.  Full Article Here

Portuguese software company Morphis selected Boulder as the site for its new US headquarters. The company expects to employ about 50 people in Boulder within two years. Taubman Centers opened the expansion of Cherry Creek shopping center on East 1st Avenue at Fillmore Street. The 70,000 square foot four-story wing replaces a former Saks Fifth Avenue department store that closed in 2011.
